The Humane Society is offering residents of Sandusky County an opportunity to show their lasting support by purchasing a brass plated inscribed brick with their name on it. Profits from the sale of these commemorative bricks will go to The Humane Society of Sandusky County improvement project. Cost to purchase a brick is only $50.00.

Ten reasons to purchase an inscribed brick:

1. In memory of a beloved pet that is no longer with you.
2. In memory of a beloved friend or family member that is no longer with you that loved animals.
3. If you or your family love animals but are unable to at this time to care for them yourself.
4. Show the support of your church with their name inscribed.
5. Surprise special friends that have loving pets of their own with their name on a brick.
6. Your current pet(s) can have their name inscribed which can be their way of saying "hey I have a great home, hope everyone at the shelter will too really soon"!
7. Any school or classroom may purchase an inscribed brick to show their school's support.
8. Purchase a brick to show your belief that spaying and neutering is so very important towards controlling the overpopulation of unwanted animals and strays in Sandusky County. Every animal adopted from the shelter is altered.
9. Parents can instill important messages to your children by purchasing a brick with your family's name on it. Such as children need to know that it is important to help support non-profit humane society's everywhere. Also, tell your children that many of the dogs and cats are at the shelter because of irresponsible pet owners letting their unaltered animals run at large. And parents, please set the example to your children that pet ownership is a long term responsible and that pets are NOT a thrown away when a problem arises, together, you can work through the problem.
10. Perhaps you have been helped by a humane society at some time such as help with a spay/neuter or maybe a society took in your pet(s) when you were unable to keep your them any longer. You can show long lasting appreciation by purchasing a brick with your name on it.
